Wildlife

Nothing out here owes me a photograph. Most days I come home with cold hands and nothing else.

Wildlife of the Eastern Alps, photographed with the 200–600 mm and a great deal of sitting still: a golden eagle, a young ibex in November light, a capercaillie at the lek, a kingfisher, a snowfinch at 1/5000 s. Mostly East Tyrol, occasionally further afield.

The rule is the same for all of them. Be there before the animal is, make yourself boring, and let it decide how close it wants to come. The frames where that worked are the ones on this page.
