Macro
A square metre of alpine meadow holds more than a whole valley does, if you get close enough.
Macro from East Tyrol at roughly life size: dew on an ox-eye daisy, the compound eye of a bee, jewel beetles in pollen, larch flowers in the rain. Made with the 90 and 100 mm macro lenses, early, while everything is still wet and nothing is flying yet.
Depth of field here is measured in millimetres, so the work is less about finding the subject than about deciding which single millimetre of it will be sharp. Wind is the enemy. Dew is the reward for getting up.
